Then there is the rest of the alphabet... In any case, whoever directed this should be shot. I'm surprised Hekiru didn't pull the trigger. The concept is simply terrible, with corny English narration and really stupid scenes. It's not a total loss. I like the "Kuusou Metro" video, artificial as it may be, and there are some decent "making of"-type scenes. But overall, don't touch this with a ten-foot pole. And if I were Hekiru, I'd be buying up all the copies floating around to burn.

This is a concert LD of Hekiru's second tour. All the songs performed are from Respiration. This LD truly holds a special place in my heart. I thought it would be an uninspired performance, but I was very wrong. I think this is the happiest I've ever seen Hekiru. Her emotions really show through in this performance. It may be unpolished and unsophisticated, but she really gave it her all, and it was a joy to watch. This should definitely be on your shopping list.

Personally, I felt that the beginning and middle of this concert was rather lacklustre. Hekiru's performance was not very inspired, and the choreography of the concert itself was not well done. I did not like her dress costume at all, and I wonder if she knew what the letters "BOOB" actually meant on that shirt she was wearing. A lot of the blame also rests with the camera work and the editing. The LD tends to feels disjointed and choppy, jumping straight from song to song. However, it picks up towards the end and I really enjoyed the last part. I love the rehearsals and behind the scenes portions of this LD as well; there is a lot of it, and they are really fun to watch. There is a very cute shot of Hekiru asleep in a chair!

There is no overall concept now; it is just a collection of music clips interspersed with "making of"-type scenes. While I did not like the "Sora o akiramenai" and "Iro asenai shunkan" videos that much, "Me o samase, otoko nara" is a pretty good video. I especially enjoyed the clip of her photo shoot in London, and I wish they would have more footage like this in her other LDs.

It was Hekiru's dream to perform at Budoukan when she started singing, and she finally achieved it. Not only that, she said that this would be her real start, and vowed to return. This LD is, hands down, the best of Hekiru's releases. It is a magnificent performance where Hekiru really gets into the swing of things. After she gets warmed up, her dancing in the middle of the LD is a joy, and the singing is really good - better than the CD versions. The editing is similarly excellent, showcasing Hekiru at her very best. As usual, I have a bone to pick with her costume manager, but that is a minor complaint. No Hekiru fan should be without this LD. Pick up the phone and order it now!

The advertising led me to believe that this would be an LD with a lot of behind the scenes footage of Hekiru. So I was a little disappointed to discover that it is more of a concert LD, featuring select portions of the September 13th 1997 performance at Tokyo Kokusai Forum Hall A. The LD begins right where Starting Legend '97 ~with a will~ leaves off, showing her going backstage after the concert. There are scenes of her photo shoot in Hawaii, and a photo clip section which flashes the highlights of her 1997 activities. However, the bulk of the LD is concert footage. It's fun watching Hekiru perform some songs that wind up on Baby blue eyes, but to be honest, Hekiru seemed a little tired. She didn't move around as much as she usually does. But 1997 was a busy year for Hekiru, and I appreciate what she has gone through. Note: The first press LD comes in a semi-double jacket.
